Darius Fărcaș is a lawyer with a rich experience in the field of data protection, having a diversified academic background, with studies in history and law at the Universities “Lucian Blaga” in Sibiu and “Dimitrie Cantemir” in Targu Mures. His education is enriched by participation in exchange programs and research fellowships at the University “Eötvös Loránd” in Budapest and at the Institute of Social Ethics of the University of Vienna, where he deepened his knowledge in humanities and ethics.

Throughout his career, Darius has distinguished himself by actively participating in United Nations and European Parliament simulations, as well as organizing and participating in human rights conferences, highlighting his commitment to the promotion of justice and fundamental rights.

In 2017, Darius founded and developed the first Center for Data Protection in Romania, affiliated to the “Petru Maior” University of Targu Mures, marking a significant step in advancing research and education in personal data protection in the country.

In terms of his achievements, Darius has co-authored a number of landmark works in the field of data protection, including ‘The Doctor’s Guide to Data Protection’, and has been involved in numerous projects promoting GDPR awareness and compliance. He has also organized various cultural events and conferences linking art and data protection, demonstrating an innovative approach to raising awareness.

Darius’s professional philosophy is summarized by the motto “Privacy matters!”, expressing his belief that privacy protection is essential in contemporary society. He is an active promoter of a professional, trustworthy and client-oriented approach to all aspects of data protection.

Outside of his professional life, Darius devotes himself to his passions for history and the history of religions, and also has a keen interest in the art of public speaking, which helps him to be an effective and charismatic communicator in his field of expertise.
